Just as I want my couples and clients to live their dream and enjoy their time in my country, the Bahamas, I am happily living what many would consider the dream job. Sometimes we get lucky in life and we find ourselves doing something that seems like a natural fit.  That is how Wedding and Event planning is for me. And who could ask or hope for a more beautiful place to life -work and share with our clients, than The Islands of the Bahamas.

But it is not the fun or glamorous job that many believe it to be.   Wedding Planning means that I am taking responsiblity for making what is considered the most important day in many people’s life – become the most beautiful memory for them. I take my work seriously so that means this responsiblity is serious.  But… organizing and planning is a natural strength for me, and I enjoy working with people.  So I love what I do – and it usually is the a dream job for me.

I am blessed to have had met and worked with so many wonderful wonderful couples and families.  It is one of the real perks of the business: to work with people from a wide cross section of lifre, from all over the world.  I honestly love the emotions that are shared and that I witness and help to celebrate when two people decide to come to the Bahams and exchange their vows – just the two of them. It is so intitmate and personal.  The small personal ceremonies remain my favorite…. and an honor to be a part of.

Incredibly – with my focus on weddings, I can say that I am also very lucky to have not encounter too many “bridezillas”.  Most of my brides- and grooms for that matter who often plan destination weddings- are great.  And I have forged continuing friendships and relationships over the years and watch their families grow and return with them for renewals.

As a planning company based in Nassau, I do travel to our breath taking islands and enjoy ceremonies on absolutely secudled little islands and our Family of islands.  Helicopters and speed boats become a part of the adventure.  I have planned weddings in Freeport, Eleuthera, Harbour Island and Exuma.  The pristine beaches of the less populated island are our county’s real treasures and a truly different experience for many. There are beaches and then there are beaches in the Bahamas.  And I love functions that allow the true feel and vibration of our culture to come through – maybe with a little junkanoo culture or some limbo dancing.  After all – it is still Better in the Bahamas!

While I presently operate today as an inidividual,  I work with and engage a wonderful team of professionals who work along with me.  They are an extension of me, but they really make Amour Affairs the professional and dependable company that it is. Without them – I am just someone who puts it together. They are the ones who provide the excellent services – I thank them all.

I have only had Amour Affairs for 12 years, but it has been a rewarding 12 years of creating, sharing and celebrating love, happiness and life.   Affairs of the heart are meant to be excatly that and we hope you  will celebrate with us too!
